Someone local is selling a 1928 Packard body, frame , and grille shell for $1000. This would be the start for an epic hot rod.

Or you can make pretty much everyone hate you and swap in a 2.0 turbo eco tec. automatic if you want me to hate it too.

Too many doors for me. But that is cheap.

I was picturing one powering each front wheel but that’s way cooler

This would be an awesome way to do something truly epic. All I’ll say is if you buy it and install an SBC or LS motor i will find you and beat you.
Any straight 8 or maybe a hot-toddled Lincoln or Caddy motor would be awesome though. What’s a few extra thousand to make it infinitely more interesting?

Yesssss! I’ve always wanted to keep one of those things looking pretty much stock but jam something really odd into it to make it a reliable daily. Like a Pentastar V6 or something

One of these would be overkill, which would be just perfect.

I was reading some packard info, and someone commented that the original rear axle looked like it belonged in a truck and not a passenger car. So I have been thinking about getting a smaller medium duty truck (F450/550) and swap over the heavy front straight axle, rear dually axle and diesel drivetrain.
